Housing first in Finland

The housing first principle, originating from the U.S., works as a theoretical framework for the development and research done in the Name on the door project. The aim is to, until the end of the project, outline whether there is a specific Finnish housing first model and what does it encompass. The question "How will this model be applied in the Finnish homeless services" is sought to be answered through separate development projects and Name on the door project's different development themes. In this section you can become acquainted with the housing first principle and the Name on the door development project, its backround and its participating actors and the housing first news from the Finnish perspective.

Reading room

Articles and reviews produced about the housing first principle in the Finnish context are still few as the principle is new in Finland and as the traditional housing service models still mainly prevail. Housingfirst.fi has a Reading room for these both Finnish and international publications.
